San Diego police officer killed; second injured

(CNN) -- One of two police officers shot in San Diego early Friday has died, authorities said.
"It is with a very sad heart that we announce the death of one of our officers tonight. Pray for his family," the San Diego Police Department tweeted.
"We still have a second officer in surgery. Keep him in your prayers."
The condition of the officer is unknown. A suspect is in custody, police tweeted.
Residents in the area were asked to stay inside.
Police are still searching for other possible suspects.
