Santa Claus comes to town on the East Race

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The City of South Bend welcomed Santa Claus to town as he floated down the East Race!
The event, called "Santa on the Race," was aimed to help brighten the holidays for about 100 kids.
But one person we talked to said that Santa can put a smile on everyone's face.
"I'm very grateful to the community for all they do for children in need in the holiday season," said Monica Aguirre.
Everyone was very thankful for the South Bend Fire Department's Water Rescue Squad.
They helped get Santa down the river and back to his sleigh safely!
