Santa Claus, Ind. prepping for holiday mail

SANTA CLAUS, Ind. -- One small Indiana town is celebrating the Christmas season with a traditional postmark.

Santa Claus, Indiana receives nearly 500,000 pieces of mail, including wish lists addressed to Santa. And they are all sent to receive the holiday figures beloved postmark.

The postmaster said postal patrons worldwide request the picture postmark each year.  And many customers even drive hundreds of miles to personally obtain the famous cancellation on their holiday mail.

This year's postmark was designed by a girl who grew up in Santa Claus. She is now studying graphic design at Indiana University.
