Save money at the pump with ABC 57

It is a holiday weekend, and that means folks from all over will be traveling to see loved ones and friends, but you will like have to shell out a little extra cash for gas.

Across the country gas prices are on the rise, and that means if you wait, there's the chance that could happen right here in Michiana.

Here's a few places that you will want to fill up your tanks. In Mishawaka, Meijer on the South Bremen Highway, and Marathon on McKinley Highway is selling at $3.97 a gallon of regular.

Over in Elkhart, Marathon on State Road 13 and County Road 2 is selling regular gas at $3.87 a gallon.

Then in Niles, Murphy USA at 2105 South 11th Street and Chestnut is the cheapest at $3.88 a gallon.

There's about 50 gas stations in the South Bend and Elkhart area selling regular gas for 3.99 a gallon. Lots of these are 7-11's, Martins and Phillips lots. But over in Niles, Marathon on Mayflower road has reporting gas as high as $4.01 for regular.

The most expensive gas in the country is in Hawaii, where drivers are paying $4.60 a gallon.
