Save Truman's: Burlesque and drag fundraiser show to benefit gay bar

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Save Truman's! That's the goal of a massive fundraiser this Saturday.

Truman's is in the 100 Center in Mishawaka. It's one of the only gay bars within 50 miles of the city.

According to patrons, the owner has been struggling to keep the place open for over a year now.

He may be forced to close the doors this summer.

"We really need Truman's to stay open. It is a community icon. it's so important to people, not just as a business, but as sort of a safe haven. It's a place where anybody can come," said Stephanie Dockery, who is hosting the burlesque show.

Truman's is holding a burlesque and drag show starting Saturday night at 8 p.m.

There will be 20 performances.

It's just $10 at the door.

All the money raised will go to the "Save Truman's" fund.
