SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Community Schools Board members held a meeting Thursday to discuss the future of school buildings. Last year they voted to keep control of Clay High School after shutting down and leaving this district with three high schools instead of four.
The South Bend School District is moving forward with some of its capital projects, including repairs at Adams High School on the tower that is creating safety risks for both students and staff.
At Washington High School they are getting ready to replace part of the roof after a major leak and significant water damage.
As for merging schools, board members still have several decisions to make including whether they should move Kennedy into the LaSalle facility, creating a school within a school.
