Scientists believe decaying trees are causing holes in Mount Baldy

INDIANA DUNES, Ind. ---  Scientists are closer to finding out why a sand dune in Northwest Indiana buried a six-year-old boy last year.

Scientists believe decaying trees that were covered years ago by the moving dune may be the cause of the holes. They say more research is needed.

Three more holes have been discovered on Mount Baldy since Nathan Woessner was rescued.

The park will stay closed this summer and possibly longer as scientists continue to determine the cause of the holes.
