Searchers find no sign of woman missing in St. Joseph River

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- After searching from dawn until dusk for two days, searchers have found no sign of 25-year-old Yolanda Anderson who was swept away by the currents in the St. Joseph River early Tuesday.

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources has been using side scan sonar to search the river for Anderson.

They are also conducting a surface search.

Anderson disappeared in the river near Sycamore and Colfax. Conservation Officers have been searching from there to the state line for Anderson.

The DNR will be searching from dawn until dusk until Anderson's body is found.

The DNR says it is more of a recovery mission now because the odds of someone surviving 24 hours in the river are low.

They will search until dusk Wednesday, then will resume the search Thursday morning.
