Second body found in St. Joe River identified

The body that was pulled from the St. Joseph River in South Bend on Saturday has been positively identified as Nicolas Sams, according to the Metro Homicide Unit.

Sams was reported missing, along with his girlfriend, at the end of December.

On Tuesday, Chrystal Reyes' Jeep was found in the St. Joseph River with her body inside.

Sams' body was found about 200 yards from the Jeep.

An autopsy was conducted on Monday and the cause and manner of death is undetermined pending toxicology test results.

According to MHU, there were no signs of external or internal trauma or injury to Sams' body.
