Second South Bend Police Officer injured in a crash

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A South Bend Police officer was injured in a crash at Olive and Western Avenue Friday afternoon. The officer was the second officer to be injured in a crash on Friday.

Police said the officer was stopped at a stoplight when he was rear ended.

He went to the hospital with complaints of back pain.

The driver was arrested for an out of county warrant.

At around 4:30 a.m., Patrolman First Class Justin Gorny was injured in a crash on Western Avenue and Kaley. He was taken to the hospital and was released several hours later.
