DOWAGIAC, Mich. -- A nearly eight-mile stretch of M-62 is getting resurfaced this summer with crews set to begin work on July 7 in Dowagiac.
The Michigan Department of Transportation announced on Wednesday that contractor Reith-Riley Construction Co. will be resurfacing M-62 from M-140 to M-51.
There will be single-lane closures with traffic flaggers during the duration of the work.
"The $2.1 million investment includes hot-mix asphalt cold milling and resurfacing, plus pavement markings. This project will seal the pavement and extend the surface life of the roadway, " MDOT officials said.
"Based on economic modeling, this investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 20 jobs."
The project is projected to be complete by Thursday, July 31.
