NEW CARLISLE, Ind. -- Michigan Street from Bray to County Line is closed in New Carlisle because of a structure fire.
Fire departments are pulling from hydrants so water pressure may be affected.
According to crews on scene, the fire originated and was contained to the second floor.
Fifteen cats were inside the building at the time and some did not make it. The exact number that survived is not known.
No people were inside at the time of the fire.
“The building was vacant at the time. We made contact with both renters and the building owner to make sure everybody was safe," said New Carlisle Fire Chief Josh Riser.
