Senator Ted Cruz expected to be in South Bend Thursday

The Century Center of South Bend confirmed to ABC 57 News that Republican Presidential Candidate Ted Cruz will be holding a rally Thursday beginning at 4:30 p.m. with Cruz expected to be in attendance.

Roy Saenz is the Chair to the St. Joe County GOP.

He says the presidential candidate will not only stop in St. Joe County, but other parts of Michiana as well.

"We will probably see him make a swing through Elkhart County. This is a primary not a general election. We expect him to hit some of the hotbeds of Indiana," said Saenz.

And with a week to go until the Indiana primaries, the Cruz Campaign is focusing on jobs and economy.

"The economy is obviously important to this area. Its important talking about job building and I expect to see him do this," said Saenz.

Saenz says security is also set to see another candidate roll through Michiana.

"We know that from a security standpoint, which has been an issue that past 6 months,  I  have full faith in law enforcement to protect all of our officials here," said Saenz.

Other than visiting South Bend Thursday, Cruz is also expected to be at a PAC fundraising event held in La Porte this weekend.
