Sesame Street characters visit pediatric patients

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Those at Memorial Children's Hospital got a visit from Sesame Street's Elmo and Cookie Monster.

Elmo and Cookie Monster are in town performing in "Sesame Street Live: Can't stop singing."

They read a book to the children in the pediatric playroom as well as visited children in their rooms.

"Yes they are in a hospital. Yes they are here for whatever treatment the child may be getting. And the kids' faces just light up and they forget they are in a hospital. They feel like they are seeing their rock star, you know, live and in person, and the kids really love that and they have fun," said Sesame Street Live Spokesman Joseph Baez.

Sesame Street Live is showing at the Morris Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
