Quilts of Valor honor officers
BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- The stage is set for this week's KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship in Benton Harbor, with the first round is set to tee off tomorrow.
This is the sixth and final time the tournament will be at the Harbor Shores Golf Club on the shore of Lake Michigan. KitchenAid ended its sponsorship after 13 years.
But the course is in great shape and some of the big-name pro golfers are sorry to see the end of the tournament's run in Southwest Michigan, including defending champion Steve Striker and past champ Bernhard Langer.
During a community breakfast this morning the PGA and Whirlpool announced a $150,000 donation to Lake Michigan College to keep a scholarship fund there going through 2029, five years after the Senior PGA moves on from Harbor Shores.
