Seven local organizations receive project grants

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The Community Foundation of St. Joseph County awarded over $400,000 in grants to seven different local organizations on Thursday.

These grants will help finance special projects for each organization which are designed to improve community programs and local initiatives.

The foundation’s Special Grant Project is designed to help develop: community urban affairs; parks, recreation, and environment; health and human services; youth, and education.

Organizations awarded and their grant amounts are as follows:

  • Indiana University South Bend - $150,000 (To be paid over two years)
  • Camp Millhouse, Inc. - $100,000
  • LOGAN - $60,000
  • St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Joseph County - $30,000
  • Near Northwest Neighborhood - $25,000
  • Broadway Christian Parish United Methodist Church - $24,000
  • enFocus, Inc. - $20,000
