Several people arrested on drug charges across Berrien County
BERRIEN COUNTY, Ind. --Detectives with the Southwest Enforcement Team executed several search warrants over the course of several days as part of a drug investigation.
On February 26, a search warrant was served in the city of Coloma related to the investigation of 25-year-old Trentyn Kowitz, who was suspected of distributing meth.
Officers served a search warrant and say they located approximately a quarter pound of crystal meth and other items related to drug trafficking.
Kowitz, and Taylor Clouse, 27, were both taken into custody on drug charges.
On February 28th, SWET executed two search warrants in the Benton Harbor area.
The first location was on the 1300 Block of Hurd Avenue. Officers allegedly seized crack cocaine, heroin, and marijuana.
Henry Magee, a 46-year-old man from Benton Harbor was arrested and charged with multiple drug charges of:
- Delivery of crack cocaine 4 counts
- Possession of ammunition by a felon
- Possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine
- Possession with intent to deliver heroin
The second warrant executed in the Benton Harbor area was conducted at 807 High Street where detectives say they found multiple bags of crack cocaine packaged for delivery, marijuana and a gun.
Several people were arrested and transported to the Berrien County Jail and booked on numerous drug charges and outstanding warrants.
The last search and seizure was located at an apartment complex on the 1900 Block of Territorial Road in Benton Harbor on March 1st.
Officers located nearly 67 grams of cocaine, a stolen handgun, and other drug paraphernalia. Two people were arrested in connection with this location, but their names have not been released.
