Severe storms possible Saturday

ABC57 First Warning Neighborhood Weather Forecast

Friday, July 18, 2025

Clouds hung on a little longer than expected early Friday, but the sun eventually made an appearance across Michiana. Tonight, our weather will be partly cloudy and slightly humid with temperatures falling into the middle 60s.

Our focus is on Saturday for the threat of severe thunderstorms. There is still considerable uncertainty as to how the day will play out. However, strong thunderstorms are possible after 12 PM as a storm cluster streams into Indiana. Scenario one is that the storm cluster stays together and moves through in the early afternoon. In this scenario, damaging wind is the main threat. Additionally, storms could then refire over Michiana closer to the early evening. The main threats here would still be damaging winds, but we would add in torrential rain/flash flooding and an isolated tornado. Another possibility is that the storm cluster fades before it gets to Michiana or dives slightly south. In short, severe weather could miss Michiana entirely.

Regardless, you need to be weather aware on Saturday, especially if you have outdoor plans. A few showers could linger into Sunday morning, but most of the day will be dry. More chances for storms and increased heat and humidity await us later next week.

Tonight: Partly cloudy. Low 66.

Tomorrow: PM showers and storms. Some could be severe. High 84.

Sunday: AM showers, then mostly cloudy. High 81.

Monday: Mostly cloudy. A stray storm is possible. High 82.
