Sewer project causing road closures in South Bend

The City of South Bend's sewer separation project is going to affect traffic along Northside Boulevard and Frances Street.

The city is mandated by Environmental Protection Agency to separate its stormwater and sanitary sewer lines so untreated sewage cannot flow into the river.

This phase of the project is expected to be complete in November.

Above ground, the city will also enhance the streetscape with new road surfaces, sidewalks, curbs, concrete approaches and landscaping.
