JULY 8 UPDATE: The weekend shooting in the 300 block of O'Brien Street that left two people injured, has now been elevated to a homicide investigation.

One of the victim's, 21-year-old Jamarion Watson, was critically injured and succumbed to his injuries on the evening of July 7.

The other victim, an 18-year-old male, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Watson's autopsy is scheduled for July 9 in Kalamazoo.

The South Bend Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit is actively investigating this shooting.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Two people have been reported with injuries by South Bend Police Department after a shooting that happened in the 300 block of O'Brien Street in South Bend. 

The call came in around 11:20 p.m. on July 5. 

Both victims walked into local hospitals with injuries sustained from the shooting.
