Shooting on Monroe Street in Benton Harbor injures 3-year-old

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. – A shooting taking place on the 800 block of Monroe Street, leaves a three-year-old girl with a gunshot wound to the arm on Saturday just after 4:30 am.

When officers and deputies arrived, they located the 3-year-old girl and administered a tourniquet to help stop the bleeding. The victim told deputies, “I don’t want to die.” She was transported to the hospital for her injuries.

Crime scene investigators arrived at the scene and found a large number of bullet holes that struck the house. According to investigators, the three-year-old was in bed when she was struck by a bullet.

At this time, no arrests have been made. There is not a description of the suspect and/or their vehicle.
