Conditions will remain fairly quiet through the evening with lows falling to the 40s tonight.
However, soaking showers will arrive early tomorrow morning, before daybreak, but are expected to become heavier by afternoon. A few rumbles of thunder are likely. An inch or more of rainfall is expected with the passing rain system. Highs will reach the upper and 50s and 60s Sunday afternoon before a cold front sweeps through Sunday night —dropping temperatures to the 20s for Monday. Rain will transition into snow by Monday morning. Snowfall accumulations of 1-3 inches are possible.
Winds will pick up significantly Sunday overnight into Monday—with sustained winds between 23-30 mph and up to 45 mph gusts. It would be wise to anchor down holiday decorations and other lose outdoor items. High profile vehicles will also be at risk while traveling.
Cold temperatures will remain crossing over into the New Year.
