Silver Hawks nearly double attendence from previous year

SOUTH BEND, Ind. --  More people are packing the Cove to watch the boys of summer.

Just half-way into the season and already the attendance at South Bend Silver Hawks games has nearly doubled last year's attendance.

The reason for increased numbers according to team president Joe Hart is that the Cove more fun and family friendly.

Some of the changes to the park include a splash pad and playground, flat screen TV giveaways on Fridays and more fireworks shows.

The team was bough by Chicago businessman Andrew Berlin last November.
