Silver Hawks ready for the upcoming season

SOUTH BEND, Ind.-- Baseball season is headed back to South Bend, and the Silver Hawks are ready.

The team took to the field for some practise, on Wednesday, before hitting the road for their season opener.

The Silver Hawks open a three game set with Bowling Green.

Then, the team returns home to face Fort Wayne on Monday. Players said that they are excited to get the season underway.

Bobby Stone, the ream's Infielder said, "Opening Day every year is the same as you know the first year.  You get nervous. You get excited.  But once you get that first at bat out of the way, you know you are ready to roll.  The nerves go away and its time to play ball."

Monday's home opener, at The Cove is set for 7:05 p.m.
