Small fire reported at Zimmer Biomet Plant in Warsaw

Firefighters responded to a fire at the Zimmer Biomet Plant 5 on West Center Street in Warsaw Tuesday afternoon.

Workers called 9-1-1 at 3:23 p.m. about a fire in a milling machine, according to a press release from Warsaw Wayne Fire Territory.

Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory responded with assistance from the Winona Fire Department and Lutheran Emergency Medical Service.

The fire was contained to the milling machine and its cabinetry and was extinguished.

At 5:30 p.m., employees were allowed to return to some areas of the building to remove personal property and end their work day.

The plant will resume normal operations on Wednesday.

There were no injuries.
