Smashing pumpkins to celebrate America Recycles day

ELKHART, Ind. -- Some pumpkins were no match for some folks in Elkhart.
The Elkhart Environmental Center celebrated America Recycles Day and kids got a chance to smash leftover pumpkins for a compost pile.
Kids also became artists and made crafts from old piles of fabrics and wood.
The environmental center hopes events like this one gets the community excited about recycling opportunities.
