Snow hits LaPorte County

LAPORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- ABC 57 News Crews were stretched out across LaPorte County Tuesday where Lake Effect Snow fell.


Snowfall started picking up after midnight Tuesday.


At 5 a.m. ABC 57's Eric Cox saw about 3 inches of snow piled up in downtown La Porte.


By 7 a.m. the accumulation had almost doubled to 5-plus inches.


ABC 57's Eric Steltzer traveled along U.S. 20 where the roads were snow covered and slick.


Residents in LaPorte County can still expect heavy snow through the mid-morning.


It should wrap up by noon.
