Tonight: Snow showers this evening could bring a quick inch of snow, but any new snow will be melted by morning. Rain begins after midnight, the concern for ice ( freezing rain) is from midnight through 6:00 a.m. Temperatures rise above freezing quickly through the morning.
Wednesday is wet, any ice concerns melt quickly and temperatures spike into the low 40s by noon, with steady rain. Temperatures fall through the afternoon and rain could mix with a little snow, before ending. Thursday is a cold and quiet day before another mess to ring in the New Year. New Year's Eve should be uneventful but the early morning on Friday has the potential for more freezing rain, a greater impact than Wednesday. The good news is it is avoidable if you sleep-in New Year's Day. The weekend forecast is quiet again.

New Year's Day: Freezing rain before 9:00 a.m. Then rainy. High 42.
