Solar storm seems to have fizzled out

The solar storm that was expected to hit earth, today, seems to have fizzled out.

The storm started with a giant flare this week.

The massive cloud of charged particles could potentially effect airline flights, satellite networks and GPS services.

Thursday, the storm was only a G1, which is classified as a "minor event" on the geomagnetic storm scale.

Scientists said that they storm is still passing Earth and could potentially grow before fading sometime on Friday.
