SOUTH BEND, Ind.—South Bend International Airport (SBN) collected more than 2100 brand new teddy bears to donate to area hospitals for the seventh annual Bears in the Air program.

SBN’s CEO and Executive Director Mike Daigle and SBN team members presented the bears to pediatric department representatives at Beacon’s Children’s Hospital, Saint Joseph Health System, and Elkhart General Hospital on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, bears will be presented at Lakeland Health and Plymouth Medical Center.

Each hospital will be able to distribute teddy bears to young patients.

The Bears in the Air collection began on November 30. The program provides the donation of teddy bears to children as well as a cash donation to the Robert L. Miller, Sr. Veteran’s Center, which will take place in January.
