SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The city awarded $2.67 million, split between four organizations to further their New Neighborhood Homes Initiative, bringing new housing to urban neighborhoods.
South Bend awarded four organizations, 466 Works Community Development Corporation, Allen Edwin Homes, Habitat for Humanity St. Joseph and South Bend Heritage Foundation, in effort to close cost gaps and to provide housing options to residents.
To meet their goals in developing 29 units, 19 of which will be allocated towards low income and workforce households, the city has released their Request for Proposals to offer resources that address market challenges in urban neighborhoods.
