South Bend barber shops cut back on health problems

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Some South Bend barber shops are trying to help men cut back on their

health problems.

Saturday, the shops hosted free health screenings as part of the 2012 Black Barber Shop Health Initiative.

It's a state wide push across Indiana to educate black men about the importance of regular health testing and disease prevention.

"This is what I do. I love out reaching to the community. I love being a service to men, to women, to anybody in need. Especially health wise," says Jacob Hughes, Health Promoter.

Nine cities across the state, including South Bend, held the free health screenings.
