SOUTH BEND, Ind. – South Bend Venues Parks & Arts will be holding a free screening of the ‘The Sandlot’ (1993) at 8 p.m. at the Century Center Friday evening.

The drive-in event was announced earlier this week and pre-designated parking spots will be limited 100 cars.

Officials with South Bend Venues Parks & Arts said that, with the easing of stay-at-home orders, they wanted to provide some entertainment for the community while also adhering to social distancing guidelines.

“It was just kind of something that once everything closed down, knowing how important recreation is for the community, we were trying to brainstorm ideas that we could do while still promoting social distancing,” Bridget Noonan said, Special Events Coordinator for South Bend Venues Parks & Arts.

Everyone in the community is invited to attend the screening.
