South Bend Chocolate Company ready for the holidays

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The holiday season is one of the busiest times of year for the South Bend Chocolate Company. The store’s sales double in the winter months and employees are working hard to keep up with the demand.

The shop has a few new chocolate related items this year, including a red and green creamed pretzel.

Even the staff is getting into the mood, wearing Santa hats and reindeer antlers.

They started doing this a few years ago and now customers have grown used to seeing it.

"We want them to remember us, or downtown, during their visit to South Bend. That crazy big fun chocolate store so it’s just kind of who we are and what we do and kind of sets us apart from other places too,” said Nisa Buller of the South Bend Chocolate Café.

December is the biggest month for sales where they sell thousands of pounds of chocolate.
