SOUTH BEND, Ind.- The South Bend Common Council approved a pair of tax abatements Monday night.
South Bend will welcome Coast Southwest, a chemical distribution company from Illinois, which is expected to create 43 new jobs in the next 10 years, following the construction of a 94-thousand square-foot facility on Vorden Parkway, replacing its Illinois-based facility.
The tax abatements will also assist in the expansion of the Robert Henry Corporation, moving its construction company from the Howard Park neighborhood to the south side of South Bend.
The 6.5-million-dollar investment will go towards building a new maintenance facility, offices, and a training center; adding five new full-time jobs.
