South Bend Common Council to address new bike safety ordinance

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Also on the agenda at Monday night's Common Council meeting -- a new bicycle ordinance is up for debate.

The bill would prevent drivers from passing bikes unless there is 3-feet between them.

Those who violate the ordinance would face a fine.

The goal is to help drivers and bike riders safely share the road.

We will have much more from the council meeting, coming up on ABC 57 News at 10 and 11 p.m.
