SOUTH BEND, Ind.--- South Bend - Elkhart Startup Week starts Monday. The week long event celebrates local businesses and organizations in five different sectors.
South Bend - Elkhart Startup Week is one of dozens of celebrations worldwide put together by the Denver based company Techstars. Each day companies will host different speakers and events highlighting each of the five different sectors.
Organizers say the event aims at bringing awareness to businesses and organizations unique to the South Bend and Elkhart areas.
"The benefit, not only of the celebration, is highlighting the things that are already going on," said Grant Carlile, one of the organizers of Startup Week. "When you celebrate and invite people to those things, then you kind of get them on same page."
