South Bend firefighter placed on unpaid leave

A South Bend firefighter was placed on administrative leave without pay during the Board of Public Safety meeting Wednesday morning.

Aaron Randall will remain on leave until his court case is resolved.

On April 30 just before 2:30 a.m., Randall was pulled over by a deputy with the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department at CR17 and Verdant Street.

The deputy said Randall had marijuana, marijuana cookies and drug paraphernalia in his possession.

Randall was arrested after failing a field sobriety test and drug recognition evaluation, according to deputies.
