South Bend home heavily damaged by fire

Firefighters responded to a house fire in the 700 block of Huey Street just before noon on Wednesday.

Neighbors said they didn't believe anyone was inside the home at the time of the fire.

When firefighters arrived, the front of the home was engulfed in flames.

The fire was quickly put out, firefighters said.

Firefighters said this house was boarded up because someone struck the house with a vehicle over the weekend.
