Libraries brace for possible budget cuts from Senate Bill 1
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The South Bend International Airport made a $10,000 donation to help local veterans experiencing homelessness, Friday.
The money was raised as part of the 12th annual "Bears in the Air" fundraiser in December.
The event helped to purchase more than 2600 teddy bears for kids being treated at area hospitals.
A portion of that money they raised was presented to the Robert L. Miller Senior Veteran's Center to help local veterans who are experiencing homelessness.
Lani Vivirito, Director of the Miller Veterans Center, stated, "We've got veterans who come in who have limited mobility, who have, who have medical or combat trauma issues. And so, we want to be able to provide a space that is as safe as possible and as accessible as possible."
