South Bend launches 311 hotline

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The city of South Bend just launched its non-emergency 311 line.

Several city departments are taking part such as water works, solid waste, and the streets department. But more departments will be added throughout the year.

"The division of the 311 center is a one stop shop," said Mayor Pete Buttigieg. "That makes it simple and straight forward to get real time information answers and solutions to questions having to do with problems having to do with city services."

The 311 line is open Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

It's a free service, but cell phone charges may still apply.
