South Bend launches new toolkit for local developers

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The City of South Bend has launched an online toolkit that will help local residents who are wanting to become small-scale developers.

This toolkit shares information on how small developers in the area can source properties, perform due diligence, procure necessary permits and more.

“This toolkit is the product of a tremendous collaboration of shared knowledge between local banks and CDFIs, contractors, real estate agents, developers, architects, and so many parts of the City’s government,” said Alkeyna Aldridge, Director of Engagement and Economic Empowerment.

“We hope that this toolkit not only provides helpful resources to small-scale developers but inspires people in the community to pursue their own projects to spark small scale change in our neighborhoods,” Aldridge added.

A free Small-Scale Incremental Development Seminar will take place on June 7 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Our Lady of Hungary School Auditorium, 829 W. Calvert Street.

For anyone wanting to attend this seminar virtually can join through this Zoom link.
