South Bend man sentenced to 19 years for armed robberies

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - A South Bend man was sentenced to 19 years in prison after pleading guilty to three counts of armed robbery, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Archie Taylor, 37, was sentenced to an additional three years of supervised release for robbery affecting commerce, bank robbery and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence.

Over the course of one week in September 2022, Taylor robbed three convenience stores and a bank in the Elkhart and Mishawaka areas, according to reports.

He allegedly pointed a handgun at employees and stole cash and merchandise during the robberies.
