South Bend Police add 50 new AEDs to patrol vehicles

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The South Bend Police Department recently added 50 new AEDs to its patrol vehicles in order to better respond to cardiac emergencies in the city.  

The police department was able to purchase the fully automated AEDs using grant funding.

Officers are currently being trained on how to use the devices, which give verbal instructions to guide users through the process.
