SAINT JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The South Bend Police Department held their annual memorial service to recognize and honor 15 fallen South Bend officers and one County officer.
Family members of the fallen were each given a black painted rose in addition to placing a rose on each of the monuments with the fallen officers' names.
Families of the fallen were then escorted by fellow officers to place a candle on a pedestal at the Central Monument.
The memorial ended with a 21-gun salute honoring the officers who died in the line of duty.
