SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- For the fourth consecutive year, the South Bend Police Department is holding an art contest that will see the winner's creation come to life.

The department announced the return of its annual patch coloring contest. 

Kids 17 and under can design a patch on a coloring sheet (downloadable here; pages can also be picked up at the SBPD's front lobby).

Artwork must be submitted by Wednesday, July 29 at 11 p.m. It can either be submitted at the department's front lobby or through email at [email protected]. The following day, a public Facebook vote will determine the winner.

The winning artist will get the chance to see their work as a limited-run embroidered patch, which will be available for purchase. The patches will also be displayed at department events and as its profile picture on the department's social media feeds for one week. The winner will also receive a personal tour of the department.
