SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Police Department held their annual School's Out Cookout Friday at Kennedy Park. The event is focused on bringing the community together in a fun meaningful way. There were vendors, food and drink also provided by local officers, games, and face painting.
Sergeant Jarveair Bourn of the SBPD emphasized the importance of the police department's relationship with the community and saying events like this can bring more positive connotation between the community and the officers who serve it.
