South Bend police announce arrest in late night shooting

SOUTH BEND - South Bend have announced an arrest a shooting that happened late Thursday night.

The initial call came in for a shooting on the 100 block of East Eckman Street around 11:10 p.m..

Officers found Brian Neiley, 34, with a gunshot wound to the chest. 

He was taken to the hospital with an injury that is not life-threatening.

Investigators say Montel Jackson, 22, later confessed to the shooting. He is facing charges in connection to the shooting. Investigators have not said what those charges are.
