South Bend police officer passes away

SOUTH BEND, Ind.—The South Bend Police Department announced on Tuesday that Officer Donald Knabenshue passed away over the weekend.
Officer Knabenshue served the department as a patrol officer, detective, and K-9 handler for over 22 years.
He had been on medical leave from the department.
Arrangements are pending.
