South Bend Police officer resigns after being charged with theft

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A South Bend Police officer who has been charged with theft for allegedly changing price tags on merchandise at Walmart has resigned.

The Board of Public Safety accepted Brandon Jones' resignation at their meeting Wednesday.

Jones was accused of switching price tags on Notre Dame apparel, which resulted in a loss of about $66.

Jones also apologized during the meeting Wednesday.
